Mission of the Alumni Association

The mission of the UNH Alumni Association is to advocate for the University of New Hampshire and its alumni, and promote the University's historic land-grant mission of teaching, research, and public service. Through its programs and services, the Alumni Association develops a spirit of loyalty to the University, engaging and serving alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff, and the public.

More specifically, the Alumni Association's responsibilities are as follows:

  • To connect alumni to the University and to one another
  • To provide opportunities for alumni, parents and friends to gather in their local areas under the University's banner through networks and other alumni groups
  • To provide career and networking assistance to our alumni
  • To be the primary communicator to the alumni body
  • To help develop a positive public opinion of our University
  • To assist in recruiting the best and brightest students to the University and to encourage children of alumni to continue the family tradition of attending UNH
  • To provide opportunities for the leadership of the University to receive thoughtful counsel and advice from the alumni constituency
  • To provide volunteer service opportunities for alumni to assist with the mission and business of the Alumni Association and the University
  • To encourage networks, classes and other alumni groups to raise scholarship funds for deserving students
  • To maintain the traditions that make this University the unique place that it is
  • To raise friends for potential fundraising activities
