View the paintings created by John Angelopoulos accompanied by the Charles Simic poems that inspired his work. UNH Homecoming 5K Road Race
The race begins on Main Street, Durham, in front of the Field House. T-shirts for the first 300 registered runners. Featuring lots of prizes, light refreshments, and a certified race course with results from Granite State Race Services. Cost is $15 before Oct. 9 and $18 after. Day of race registration begins at 7:30 a.m. There will be a ¼ mile kids fun run immediately following the 5k. Click here for registration and details. In Touch the Earth, ceramicists Al Jaeger, Warren Mather, Jonathan Mess, and Joan Walton create sculptures that display an intimate knowledge of their immediate surroundings – each object a microcosm of the area in which they work. The works of art comment on the regional diversity of the landscape from beaches, forests, and deserts to the residue of urban development. Caught Up With Reality examines ways in which artists of late 19th and 20th-century America explored realism as an illusionistic window as well as expressed contemporary ideas of constructing meaning in art.
