Alumni Awards

Nominations for Alumni Awards
The University of New Hampshire is dedicated to honoring distinguished alumni for their exceptional achievements and their contributions to their alma mater, their communities, and the world.

We ask that you help us identify those that you feel have fulfilled the promise of their UNH education to an extraordinary degree

The 2024 Alumni Achievement Awards include the Charles Holmes Pettee Award, Alumni Meritorious Service Award, and Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement. Nominations for these awards will be accepted until February 21, 2024. Nominations submitted after the deadline will be reviewed the following year. You are welcome to submit nominations for the other awards for consideration in future years.

SUBMIT A NOMINATION

 Guidelines for Nominations

  • The Awards Committee emphasizes the significance of submitting a comprehensive nomination. It is important to include information highlighting the candidate's noteworthy accomplishments. Submission of a resume, CV, or equivalent document is encouraged, and additional supporting materials such as links, articles, and recommendation letters are welcome.
  • Candidates who have been nominated posthumously will not be considered unless they passed away after the nomination was submitted. If the posthumous nominee is not awarded in that window, they cannot be reconsidered or resubmitted.
  • Self-nominations are accepted if all required documentation is included.
  • Current UNH board members will not be considered until committee roles are complete.
  • Awards are not conferred in absentia; exceptions can be made in extraordinary circumstances.
  • If at any time the University's continued affiliation with an award recipient may compromise the public trust, reflect negatively on the University's public image, or otherwise interfere with the University's ability to meet its mission, the President may revoke the award.
  • UNH faculty, staff, and administration become eligible for consideration either upon retirement announcement or two years post-separation from the university.
  • Awards are not conferred upon alumni currently holding political office or actively engaged in running for political positions.
